Gymnastics Coaching

I am so pleased to confirm that I have managed to book Louise for some more coaching sessions. Louise was instrumental in Team Daviot’s regional and national success last year – and we are all thrilled that she will be coming back to school again. The sessions start Tuesday 6th September – straight after school – from 3pm to 4pm . They are open to all children (P1-P7), and they will take place at the village hall. The cost of the coaching sessions will be covered by the school – and they will continue to the end of term. I will send a letter home this week to confirm if your child/children would like to attend.

I was so impressed with Evie and Lauren today. Team Daviot’s designated Junior Road Safety Officers designed their own poster competition to emphasise their very important message. Not only that, they wrote the rules, prepared examples, and then led the teaching. Truly amazing! It was also lovely to see them working alongside our youngest pupils to make sure they understood the task. Fantastic work girls – you are going to be such a miss to the team when you move on to the Acedemy. Thankfully, we still have a full year with you both!

 

Show and Tell!

Joshua presented one of my favourite ever ‘Show and Tells’ today. His helicopter was awesome! A big thank you must also go to his Grandad for buying it. I’m off to buy one for myself over the weekend! It was also great to see Lucca and Joshua working so well together again – they really have embraced our Flight topic. Well done, boys! I am so pleased you have joined Team Daviot!

Super Soup!

We had a great afternoon making soup from the vegetables we picked out of the polytunnel. Unfortunately, our cooking time went past the end of the school day – so we will have to wait till tomorrow to taste it. I ca’t wait!

Scottish SPCA Visit

Daviot welcomed the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals into school today. The SSPCA encourage kindness to animals, aim to prevent cruelty through education, investigate abuse, rescue animals in distress and find animals new homes. The SSPCA do an amazing job, and the talk they gave us was interesting, informative and had very important message. Please note down their Animal Helpline: 03000 999 999.

 

Perfect Parachute!

I would like to say a big thank you to Lucca for bringing his parachute into school today. He explained how he made it to the class excellently – and we all want to have a go at making one during our topic work too! Thanks, Lucca!

Green Fingers!

Earlier today, we started picking some of the vegetables we have been growing in the polytunnel. The courgettes were enormous! If we entered them into a competition, I’m sure they would be prizewinners! The peas were very tasty too!
